Blake Hornbuckle, Academy Director

Head Coach, Blake Hornbuckle, is entering his 13th year at Southeastern Louisiana University . Hornbuckle has led Southeastern to six Southland Conference titles (1998, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2009).  The 2009 team  participated in the Tallahassee Regional of the Women's NCAA Division I National Tournament.  He  has been named Louisiana Sports Writer's Coach of the Year four times (1998, 1999, 2003, 2009) and Southland Conference Coach of the Year in 1999 and 2006. Hornbuckle has  an extensive background of coaching at all youth and collegeiate levels of the game for both genders and experience working with high level players that have participated in the US National Team Programs.  Hornbuckle holds a USSF "A" license, USSF National Youth license and NSC AA National Diploma. At Southeastern, Hornbuckle has coached 80 All Southland Conference Players, 3 Southland Players of the Year and 3 Southland Freshmen of the Year. Hornbuckle's record at Southeastern is 129-78-26 and 72-41-16 in the Southland Conference. His overall record is 139-85-27. Hornbuckle's success has been evident on the field as he has produced 52 All Louisiana Selections, 4 Louisiana Sports Writer's Players of the Year, 4 Louisiana  Sports Writer's Freshmen of the Year and 7 SLC title appearances. He was recently named to the Team of the Decade for the 1990's at his Alma Mater, Maryville College in Maryville , Tennessee .  Hornbuckle resides in Hammond with his wife Becky and two daughters, Anna Grace and Ella.

 

Tresy Ross, Assistant Academy Director

Assistant Coach, Tresy Ross, enters her second year at Southeastern.  Prior to her arrival at Southeastern, she  spent a two year stint at Virginia Commonwealth University as a Graduate Assistant and served as a staff coach for the Richmond Kickers Soccer Club.  Ross holds a USSF "C" license and NSCAA National Diploma.  Before  joining the Virginia Commonwealth Staff, she was the top assistant coach at Virginia Military Academy where she helped lead the team to the best record in school history.  Ross played at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where she was named the American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year four times and received all region honors twice.  She scored 73 goals during her career and tallied 163 points. Ross was also a team captain for three years.  She was twice named the Gene Day Award winner as the most outstanding female athlete for the Austin College. Ross was named to the Verizon  Academic All AmericaTeam her senior year and graduated with a degree in Chemistry and Exercise & Sports Science.
